As the CEO and leader of Jobalia Development Group, Anand Jobalia is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and accelerating the company through its strategic plan. Since joining the firm in 2004, Anand has had a major impact on growth and has helped to narrow the company’s focus toward single-family residential construction.
Anand brings an extensive skill set to the table. His background is centered around structuring and negotiating deals, raising capital, and executing master plans, all of which are useful when it comes to taking Jobalia Development Group to the next level. He attended Emory University where he earned a degree in Economics and Finance before spending several years working as an investment banker. Shortly after, he took over as CEO of Jobalia Development Group, which is his family’s business.
Jobalia Development Group is a single-family residential development company that specializes in infrastructure development. Residential construction is much like an assembly line and Jobalia serves as the front-end of that supply chain. The company acquires land, develops infrastructure, and provides developers with finished lots and the necessary tools they need to get started.
While Jobalia Development Company has been accelerating new home construction for decades, its role in the homebuilding process has never been more important. Today’s real estate inventory challenges continue to increase demand for new construction. There is a significant amount of vacant land in Florida and across the United States, but developing infrastructure is time-consuming and expensive. Jobalia helps to expedite the process.
Jobalia’s projects involve developing several hundred ready-to-build lots at a time and delivering them to homebuilders for construction.
“The greatest investment for every American is their home, so I feel like I am part of that process,” Anand said. “I will always forever be a part of those developments, will forever be a part of that home.”
The company was started in the early 1970s by Anand’s father, Dipak Jobalia. Dipak was an underground utility contractor and helped to develop much of the infrastructure across Volusia County And Port Orange before he decided to start his own business.
In the early days, Jobalia Development Group focused on both residential and commercial construction. The company started supporting the financial services industry with infrastructure development, and Dipak even joined the boards of a few banks. The company then ventured into hotel development too, partnering with industry leaders like Hilton and Marriott.
However, given the strong success of developing single-family homes and the high demand for new construction, Anand has started to narrow the company’s focus exclusively toward residential construction and away from the commercial side of the business. The company now partners with some of America’s largest homebuilders.
During his time at Jobalia Development Group, Anand has been an active investor and developer, supporting new projects across the entire state of Florida. Over the past few years, the firm has played a huge role in the development of new communities across New Smyrna Beach, Jacksonville, Port Orange, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, and many other cities across the state.
“We’ve definitely seen resilience in the market in the state of Florida,” Anand said.
Helping consumers achieve home ownership and enabling them to come home to a place they own is a huge part of the company’s mission, and being part of that process is what brings Anand and his team the most joy.
Anand was born and raised in Volusia County and currently resides in the area with his wife and two children.
